OSHA – On March 28, 2016, OSHA published a final rule regarding updates to the eye and face protection standards. Covering PPE requirements, the final rule updates OSHA’s current Eye and Face Protection Standards to reflect the current national consensus standards.
The new updates recognize the ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2010, Occupational and Educational Personal Eye and Face Protection Devices, and removes the outdated 1986 edition of the same standard. The 1989 and 2003 versions of the ANSI standard referenced in OSHA’s standard are to remain included.
The updates to the final rule become effective on April 25, 2016.

Earlier last week, OSHA also issued a final rule on silica regulations. Keep an eye out for our report and overview of the standard on Thursday.
